[Hiring] Lead JavaScript/TypeScript Full-Stack Engineer @EPAM Systems

Role Description

We're seeking a Lead JavaScript/TypeScript Full-Stack Engineer to deliver production-ready features across the entire stack — spanning database, API, and UI layers — and to integrate AI-assisted development as a core part of daily work rather than a peripheral skill. You'll take ownership of feature development on our technology stack (Node.js, React, PostgreSQL/Redis, AWS or other cloud), leveraging tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code as everyday production tools.

• Design, build, and ship full-stack features across the JavaScript/TypeScript stack — frontend (React, Next.js), backend (Node.js), and the database layer.
• Take full ownership of tasks from implementation through testing, code review, and documentation.
• Leverage AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) on a daily basis to implement tasks, generate tests, debug, and explore the codebase.
• Utilize prompt engineering and context management techniques to achieve reliable, targeted output from AI tools.
• Critically evaluate AI-generated code prior to merging — confirm correctness, identify hallucinated logic, and fully understand every shipped change.
• Connect with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP) and third-party services as required.
• Engage in code reviews, architecture discussions, and sprint planning sessions.
• Troubleshoot production issues across the stack, leveraging AI tools to speed up root-cause analysis when applicable.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience as a full-stack engineer.
• 1+ years of relevant leadership experience.
• Strong command of JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Background with Node.js and frontend frameworks like React or Angular.
• Familiarity with database systems including PostgreSQL, Redis, or comparable technologies.
• Hands-on work with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Regular, hands-on use of AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code in production settings.
• Capacity to critically assess AI-generated code.
• Expertise in prompt engineering: crafting structured prompts, distinguishing system vs. user prompts, and managing context clearly.
• Solid problem-solving abilities paired with the capacity to work quickly and effectively under genuine delivery pressure.
• Advanced English proficiency (B2+ or higher).

Requirements

• Working knowledge of Python (nice to have).
• Experience in platform engineering, observability, and reliability engineering (nice to have).
• Familiarity with system design principles (nice to have).
• Hands-on experience setting up multi-step agentic workflows involving multiple MCP integrations (nice to have).
• Capability to safely manage parallel AI agents (using Git Worktree-based sandboxing) and to design reusable prompts along with multi-step agentic flows (nice to have).
