• Design and build the Backend-for-Frontend API layer consumed by mobile applications
• Develop REST endpoints and define service contracts aligned to mobile user flows
• Enhance backend performance through profiling, analysis, and targeted improvements
• Refactor legacy code to boost reliability and readability
• Write clean, testable code and sustain unit test coverage at a strong level
• Integrate with existing backend services and manage bespoke and legacy dependencies
• Investigate defects, pinpoint root causes, and ship safe patches quickly
• Collaborate with engineers, product partners, designers, and QA to deliver features end to end
• Support CI workflows and strengthen build tooling to keep releases smooth
• Advocate for great user experience by influencing API and data design decisions
• Cut technical debt by eliminating redundant code and keeping the codebase healthy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience building server-side applications in Java
• At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience
• Expertise in Spring Boot for building and maintaining services
• Proficiency in REST API development, including working with legacy services
• Understanding of algorithms and data structures for efficient code
• Competency in consistent unit testing with a test-driven approach
• Knowledge of build tools and practical experience with CI workflows
• Showcase of solution design for problems with unclear constraints
• Qualifications in performance profiling and optimization for backend services
• Capability to debug and troubleshoot production incidents effectively
• Ownership mindset with proactive communication and follow-through
• Skills in collaboration within senior-level, cross-functional environments
• Excellent command of written and spoken English (B2+ level)

Requirements

• Familiarity with Docker for local containerized development and CI pipeline execution
• Flexibility to use Gradle for build configuration and dependency management
• Expertise in GraphQL and GQL API design and consumption
• Proficiency in Kotlin for JVM-based server-side development
• Knowledge of RAML for API modeling and documentation
