[Hiring] Java EE Software Engineer @Peraton

Role Description

Peraton is seeking a Software Engineer. This position will support the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) Account as a Java Application Software Developer. These developers collaborate with business analysts, testers, and stakeholders to implement features, resolve issues, and optimize system performance. Responsibilities include:

• Coding, debugging, testing, and deploying software, focusing on data quality, interoperability, and compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
• Conducting research in design, development, testing, and utilization of electronic data processing software.
• Designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Conducting multidisciplinary research and collaborating with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Determining computer user needs; analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls; preparing operating instructions; designing and developing compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
• Ensuring software standards are met.
• Analyzing user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
• Conferring with systems analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design systems and obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces.
• Designing, developing, and modifying software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
• Coordinating software system installations and monitoring equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.

Qualifications

• 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD; 9 years with HS diploma.
• Requires U.S. Citizenship.
• Must have current/active DoD Public Trust.
• Must have Security + certification.
• Cloud development experience.
• Must have hands-on experience developing Java EE applications on WebLogic Application Server.
• In-depth knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems.
• Strong understanding and working knowledge of Software Development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile/Scrum).

Benefits

• Target Salary Range: $66,000 - $106,000.
• Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
• Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
