[Hiring] Java Backend Developer @xFarm Technologies SA

Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join the Engineering team in Brazil (100% remote). As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, building and evolving the Java microservices architecture that powers our digital solutions, making sure that data, machines and systems communicate in a scalable, secure and efficient way.

Qualifications

• Solid, senior-level experience in backend development with Java 21 or higher.
• Hands-on experience designing and running microservices architectures in production with Micronaut (strongly preferred) or Spring Boot, including OAuth2, JWT and REST API integrations.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, Liquibase, JDBC and MongoDB, as well as Apache Kafka and event-driven architecture.
• Practical testing experience with JUnit 5, Testcontainers, Mockito and WireMock.
• Comfortable with AWS and cloud environments, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Git and the Git-flow workflow.
• Autonomous and well-organised, able to work remotely and collaborate effectively across Brazil and Italy.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken, for clear communication in an international environment.

Requirements

• Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices in Java 21+ with Micronaut or Spring Boot, following OpenAPI and Swagger standards.
• Integrate external systems and third-party providers through OAuth2, JWT, webhooks and REST APIs.
• Implement event-driven messaging patterns with Apache Kafka and work with PostgreSQL and MongoDB, ensuring performance and data consistency.
• Maintain and evolve the internal libraries that contain our domain business rules, writing unit and integration tests with a TDD approach.
• Run and deploy services on AWS (S3, Secrets Manager, Elastic Beanstalk), containerising applications with Docker and contributing to CI/CD pipelines, preferably on GitLab CI.
• Collaborate with QA, Tech Lead, Product Owner and the engineering teams to define and deliver robust, secure and scalable solutions.
