[Hiring] Intermediate Infrastructure Engineer @Centrapay

Role Description

At Centrapay, we're revolutionising how you spend money both in-store and online. We allow businesses to create digital assets and loyalty programmes so that you can spend and be rewarded anywhere.

Our payments platform is the heartbeat of what we do. On top of this, we're building our hero app, Payap (www.payap.com), that brings all of our best capabilities to life.

What you'll actually be working on:

• Stress-testing our systems before reality does: chaos engineering and load testing that deliberately breaks things in controlled ways.
• Rolling out an AI Harness across engineering: tooling and workflows that change how we actually ship, review, and debug code day to day.
• Building disaster recovery that actually recovers: complete regional failover, ensuring our system keeps moving people's money during outages.

• Learn by building: we give you business problems, not specs.
• Progress over perfection: we deploy to production daily, and you'll push code on your first day.
• Work across the stack: backend, frontend, infrastructure.

• AI tools: Claude Code, Cursor, Github Copilot
• Backend & data: Node.js, DynamoDB, Redis, Vitest
• Frontend: Vue.js, Tailwind CSS, Astro, Testing Library, Playwright
• Infrastructure & operations: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Honeycomb, OpenTelemetry
• Tooling: Claude, Github, Slack, Notion, Figma

Qualifications

• At least 3 years shipping real code to users.
• Clear writing skills for async-first communication.
• Comfortable with ambiguity and user interaction.

Requirements

• Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
