Role Description

The Integration Engineer II supports the development and implementation of integrating solutions for XSOLIS applications and services across internal and external platforms. The Integration Engineer II works with occasional assistance from senior members of the team and cross functionally to determine, document, and configure interfaces to support the application software. Integration Engineers are keen problem solvers, excellent researchers, and have great analytical skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Work closely with application teams, subject matter experts, and third-party application experts to determine business needs for interfaces, document requirements, and configure interfaces per the requirements.
• Provide proactive support by monitoring live interfaces and collaborating with SR Integration Engineer experts to provide permanent resolutions to problems.
• Support, troubleshoot, upgrade, and audit the interface engine.
• Research technical, interface, and integration problems and routinely apply troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with minimal assistance.
• Create and maintain flat file pass-through for third-party entities and support the integration tool used to map and troubleshoot.
• Maintain detailed architectural documentation for all deployed interfaces.
• Manage the flow of information between internal and external customers.
• Communicate and support internal and external customers by solving customer issues.
• Review specifications and architect interfaces based on their design.
• Create interfaces from scratch and document brand new interfaces for projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience creating and maintaining HL7 interfaces.
• 1-3 years of experience with JavaScript Development.
• 1-3 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
• Basic knowledge of application support.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of HL7 version 2.x message types and segment/field mapping (ADT, ORM, ORU, DFT, MDM, etc.).
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of healthcare data exchange formats such as XML, CCD, CDA, and DICOM, as well as healthcare data standards such as LOINC, CPT, IDC-9/ICD-10, and SNOMED.
• Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server/MySQL database platform.
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP security, networking, and data transport methods.
• Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely.
• Ability to problem solve/troubleshoot interface issues through research.
• Experience working with Mirth Connect (or similar) interface engine.
• Proficient working from the command line.

Working Environment and Travel Requirements

Work is typically in a normal office administrative environment involving minimal exposure to physical risks. Position requires little to moderate physical activity. Mostly sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. No significant stooping is usually required. This role requires travel to our home offices in TN for training.
