Role Description

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in development, particularly with Basis International languages. Key responsibilities include:

• Actively developing in Progression/5 (BBx, Pro/5) and Business Basic for Java (BBj) for 10+ years.
• Spending 80% of time on adding new features and capabilities rather than on break-fix or small enhancements.
• Using BBj primarily for integrations rather than graphical user interfaces.
• Integrating in/out of a Pro/5 system (e.g., http, XML, RPC).
• Learning and adapting to a custom code base that was not developed by the candidate.
• Developing based on specifications created by others within a formal SDLC environment.
• Utilizing Microsoft SQL Server and creating SQL queries for troubleshooting purposes.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of recent development experience with Progression/5 and BBj.
• Experience with integrations in/out of a Pro/5 system.
• Ability to learn a custom code base.
• Experience in a formal SDLC environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server.

Requirements

• Experience in Hospitality / Vacation Ownership industry (optional).
• Development experience with both Progression/5 and BBj for system-to-system integrations (optional).
• Unix/Linux shell scripting experience (optional).
• Experience with other Business Basic variants such as Thoroughbred BASIC, ProvideX, MAI OpenBasic (optional).
• Experience using external logging platforms for troubleshooting (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace) (optional).
