[Hiring] Cloud Integrations Solutions Architect @State of Colorado

YDay - State of Colorado is hiring a remote Cloud Integrations Solutions Architect. ๐Ÿ’ธ Salary: $135,000 - $145,000 per year ๐Ÿ“Location: USA

Role Description

The Cloud Integrations Solutions Architect will act as a senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) and technical authority within the Office of Information Technology (OIT). You will be responsible for designing, architecting, and supporting mission-critical, secure, and highly efficient cloud hosting and enterprise-class platforms and solutions across the agency. As an integral leader, you will participate in the development and formulation of plans, policies, standards, and programs in the areas of secure multi-tenant cloud hosting services and the Service Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of those services.

Some of the day to day opportunities include:

  • Establishing scalable cloud hosting standards, policies, and SDLC frameworks to ensure secure, uniform multi-tenant service delivery across the enterprise.
  • Architecting and delivering robust IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and DBaaS solutions to maximize system performance, uptime, and operational cost-efficiency.
  • Executing seamless hybrid-cloud migrations and deploying enterprise shared hosting services to reduce legacy infrastructure costs and modernize agency workloads.
  • Accelerating software delivery cycles and harden environment reliability by embedding DevSecOps, cloud orchestration, and immutable infrastructure practices across teams.
  • Standardizing and promoting reusable architecture and deployment patterns and CI/CD pipelines to shorten release cycles, eliminate redundant development, and improve deployment consistency.
  • Adopting a product-lifecycle approach to cloud servicesโ€”measuring success not by 'go-live' dates, but by user feedback, system reliability, and actual business outcomes for agency partners.
  • Resolving high-level multi-tenant engineering bottlenecks to ensure seamless, secure interoperability across agency systems.
  • Translating strategic product roadmaps into production-ready cloud architectures through lifecycle analysis with product and operations leaders.
  • Integrating best-of-breed security controls into all cloud designs to successfully pass audits and secure GovRAMP, FedRAMP, FISMA, DoD IL4, and State compliance accreditations.
  • Building robust data recovery and DR strategies to strictly enforce target RPO and RTO metrics, protecting critical systems against outages or data loss.
  • Validating active-active and active-passive failover capabilities through rigorous testing and BIA alignment to guarantee business continuity during enterprise disruptions.
  • Evaluating cloud market research and feasibility studies to recommend data-backed technology investments that drive continuous operational improvement.
  • Evaluating and managing relationships with cloud service providers and vendors to ensure alignment with organizational goals, service level agreements (SLAs), and total cost of ownership (TCO) targets.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience working within Cloud based engineering.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of professional, hands-on experience designing, architecting, and deploying enterprise-grade solutions specifically on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience designing secure, multi-tenant cloud environments with a focus on governance, compliance (e.g., FedRAMP, CJIS), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) within GCP and AWS environments.
  • Experience with Mulesoft.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD.
  • Familiarity with performing data research to determine proper data relationships and source validation.

Requirements

  • Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification is strongly preferred.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) certification is a preferred credential.
