Role Description

Join the growing Warfare Systems Business Group at HII-Mission Technologies! We are seeking a Cloud Application Engineer (Software Development Analyst) to support the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) , Office of the CIO, in support of the Foreign Military Sales Case Development Modernization effort.

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, deploy, and support modern web applications hosted in AWS GovCloud.
• Build intuitive, responsive React.js Single Page Applications (SPAs).
• Work across the application stack, including user experience, frontend architecture, APIs, authentication and authorization, cloud services, containerized workloads, data persistence, deployment, and operational troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate is a front-end-focused engineer with AWS deployment experience.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in React and modern frontend application architecture.
• Experience programming in TypeScript.
• Experience with Material UI (MUI), TanStack Query, and Fastify.
• Experience with REST API development and integration with front-end applications.
• Experience developing and deploying applications in AWS and integrating with AWS services.
• Solid understanding of Agile and iterative development methodologies.
• Experience working with stakeholders to translate business processes into software requirements and solutions.
• Ability to work independently while thriving in collaborative team settings.
• Must possess and maintain an active Secret clearance at the time of consideration.
• Remote-eligible position; must align with Eastern Time Zone core business hours.

Requirements

• Software Development Analyst II: 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
• Software Development III: 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements

• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Experience developing and operating production applications in AWS, preferably AWS GovCloud.
• Experience with containerized applications and orchestration, including Docker and Amazon EKS.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/Amazon RDS, Amazon S3, and other AWS application services.
• Experience modernizing legacy applications and implementing secure, enterprise-grade solutions in DoD or federal environments.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git).
• Experience in SAFe Agile environments, including participation in PI planning and Scrum/Kanban ceremonies.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver maintainable, user-focused web applications.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods while working at a computer.
• Ability to operate a keyboard, mouse, and standard office equipment to perform analytical tasks.
• Must be able to effectively communicate in virtual meetings, briefings, and secure collaboration environments.
• Ability to review, analyze, and interpret digital data for extended periods with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Occasional light lifting of documents or equipment up to 10 lbs, if needed for home-office setup.
• Must maintain a home-work environment that meets company and government security requirements.
• Must be able to work assigned East Coast core business hours to support program and customer requirements.
