Role Description

TAG Software Group is looking for an experienced Chief Technology Officer.

You have successfully led software developers across a wide range of experience levels and specialties. You bring deep expertise in shaping product strategies in close collaboration with cross-functional leaders. As an empathetic and results-driven leader, you have a proven ability to develop your team while consistently achieving business objectives.

• You’re a trusted partner to teams across the organization—skilled in communication, expectation management, and influencing cross-functional collaboration.
• You know how to scale an engineering organization, define clear roles and responsibilities, and plan effectively for growth.
• You’re proficient in Agile methodologies and have successfully applied these principles to drive productivity and quality improvements.
• You have hands-on experience with project and issue tracking tools such as JIRA, ensuring efficient collaboration and transparency across distributed teams.
• You’re familiar with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab or Jenkins, enabling seamless, automated workflows from development to deployment.
• Your background includes strong practical knowledge of version control systems like Git.
• You have demonstrable experience in developing and migrating cloud-based solutions, particularly within AWS and Azure environments.
• You have overseen the adoption of modern development frameworks and technologies to stay at the forefront of innovation.
• You have leveraged AI tools (such as CoPilot) to enhance delivery speed and code quality.
• Experience with .NET environments and codebases would be highly beneficial.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of proven experience as an engineering manager or senior team leader responsible for direct line management of software engineers.
• Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership, software engineering and architecture, including full-stack development.
• Mandatory domain knowledge in SaaS product development and methodologies.
• Excellent levels of both written and spoken English.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
