Role Description

The role involves responsibilities across development, client relations, and project leadership.

• Development:
  • Design and implement reliable, efficient, and secure integrations using PHP/Laravel or JS/Node.
  • Optimize databases and queues, understanding how infrastructure choices affect throughput and reliability.
  • Ensure projects are well tested and implement a solid CI/CD pipeline.
• Client Relations:
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to clients and negotiate on requirements, resources, timelines, and scope.
  • Provide timely advice on integrating with Shopify, offering insights on middleware architecture and design principles.
  • Utilize technical calls, emails, written documentation, diagrams, or any means necessary to ensure client success.
• Project Leadership:
  • Communicate the status of a project clearly and raise challenges or uncertainties early.
  • Assist with development timelines and in grooming, assigning, and releasing work.
  • Supervise the team’s output and provide guidance through paired programming and quality code reviews.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with PHP/Laravel or JS/Node, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
• Comfortable working in the command-line and with Linux-based operating systems.
• Experience with React is not essential but nice to have.
• Experience in data modeling, data mapping, and data migration between systems.
• Good understanding of the Shopify data model and hands-on experience with Shopify APIs.
• Ability to collaboratively solve problems and share knowledge.
• People management experience is a plus.
