Role Description

We are hiring a Software Engineer - Backend (m/f/d) to join the Banking Infrastructure team.

The Banking Infrastructure team owns the systems that connect our platform to external banking institutions and payment networks. This is high-impact, high-scale engineering at the core of a fast-growing fintech, where precision, resilience, and smart execution directly shape how money moves for thousands of organizations.

The Team Tech Stack:

• Java, Spring Boot
• AWS cloud services
• PostgreSQL
• Kafka

At this time, the team consists of 4 backend engineers alongside a product manager and an engineering manager.

Qualifications

• Expertise in building testable, maintainable, and extendable systems.
• Obsession with the best engineering practices.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• 5+ years of relevant experience with Java and Spring Boot (or relevant stack).
• Proficiency with REST APIs and event driven communication patterns.
• Proficiency with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL).
• Experience with AWS and Docker.

Requirements

• Working on technical initiatives: Collaborating with others to drive epics and technical initiatives within the team.
• Shaping systems’ architecture: Actively participating in shaping our technical direction and discussing possible improvements.
• Adhering to our code standards: Ensuring a scalable, maintainable, and secure micro-service architecture.
• Maintaining our systems: Participating in the on-call rotation and support efforts while identifying root causes and improvement points.
• Discuss and commit: Maintaining a knowledge sharing culture through documentation and grooming meetings.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders: Working closely with the product manager, engineering manager, and frontend engineers.
