Role Description

A leading technology organization working at the forefront of advanced artificial intelligence is seeking a Backend Developer to join its core engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to help build and scale the backend systems that power this infrastructure while collaborating closely with engineering, AI, and product teams.

Role Overview

As a Backend Developer, you will contribute to the design, development, and scaling of backend services that support high-volume data workflows and internal tooling. You will work closely with frontend engineers, AI teams, and product stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-performance systems while maintaining strong engineering standards and clear communication across teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services using Node.js and Nest.js
• Design, implement, and optimize PostgreSQL databases
• Develop scalable infrastructure using AWS or Google Cloud Platform, including serverless components
• Implement and manage Redis for caching, queue management, and high-throughput workflows
• Ensure backend systems maintain strong performance, reliability, and security
• Deliver clean, well-documented APIs
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering planning

Qualifications

• Strong production experience with Node.js and Nest.js
• Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL, including data modeling, queries, and performance optimization
• Hands-on experience working with AWS or Google Cloud Platform and serverless architectures
• Practical experience integrating and managing Redis
• Solid understanding of backend architecture, scalability, security, and performance
• Proficiency with Git/GitHub and modern CI/CD tools
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Requirements

• Experience with DevOps practices or Infrastructure as Code
• Knowledge of event-driven or real-time architectures
• Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems

• The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 – $140,000 USD.
