Role Description

This is working on the CH&S (Consumer Health & Services Team) under Analytics & Behavioral Change and Provider Analytics. This is working on the real time streaming team applying machine learning in real time with tickets coming in from Jira.

• Projects: Technical debt - go back through and cleanup code, documentation and get a better structure to reuse code going forward.
• Revamp existing applications with a pattern to be repeated on future projects.
• Develop an integration with Kafka, using some existing code then exposing through a Springboot API.
• Providing REST APIs.
• Individual contributor - 70-80% coding only.
• Document user stories from the Jira ticket.
• Attend Jira story ticket, investigate, run reports, do the code, if stuck then reach out to lead.
• Will include them into project and domain calls over time.
• This role mixes software development with some big data concepts and applications.
• Opportunity to learn Kafka, as most of the team is already proficient.
• Use of hot tools in the market, including cloud, AI, ML, and new big data tools.
• GCP is the environment and will have exposure to this.

Qualifications

• Object Oriented Programming Fundamentals.
• Functional programming is good to have.
• Experience building test cases.
• Good coding practices and Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Strong REST API Experience.
• Java or Scala.
• Experience with tickets in Jira.
• Documenting stories from Jira.
• Springboot.
• Some DevOps tools, but this will play a very limited role.
• CI/CD.
• Github.

Requirements

• JSON experience.
• SQL.
• Python.
• One of SBT, Eclipse or IntelliJ.
• Good logic, must be able to explain thought process.
