This role owns the technical health, scalability, and evolution of AEM Assets and its connected ecosystem, ensuring the platform is leveraged to its fullest potential across the organization.

The Technical Owner leads integration architecture and execution centered on AEM, including deep integration with Adobe Workfront, downstream delivery platforms, and enterprise content systems. This role is expected to act as a thought leader—proactively identifying new use cases, integration opportunities, and business capabilities where Adobe AEM can be extended to drive efficiency, consistency, and scale across marketing, creative, and digital experience teams.

Main Responsibilities

  • AEM Platform Ownership & Technical Authority
    • Serve as the primary technical authority and SME for Adobe Experience Manager Assets, including DAM architecture, configurations, workflows, metadata models, and lifecycle management.
    • Own the technical roadmap for AEM Assets, aligning platform capabilities with enterprise content, marketing, and digital experience strategies.
    • Ensure platform stability, performance, security, and compliance with enterprise and Adobe best practices.
    • Evaluate and implement Adobe AEM feature enhancements, upgrades, and cloud capabilities.
  • Integration Architecture & Development
    • Lead the design, implementation, and governance of integrations centered around Adobe AEM Assets.
    • Own and evolve integrations between AEM Assets and systems such as:
      • Adobe Workfront (asset workflows, approvals, publishing automation)
      • CMS and web delivery platforms
      • Marketing automation and personalization tools
      • PIM, CRM, and analytics platforms
    • Define and document integration patterns, APIs, data flows, and service dependencies.
    • Partner with engineering teams, Adobe, and system integrators to deliver scalable, resilient integration architectures.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration, performance, and data synchronization issues.
  • Adobe Workfront Enablement
    • Act as the technical lead for AEM–Workfront integration, ensuring seamless asset intake, approval, versioning, and publishing workflows.
    • Optimize Workfront-to-AEM pipelines to reduce manual effort and improve asset throughput.
    • Partner with creative, marketing, and operations teams to continuously improve workflow automation and governance.
  • Governance & Best Practices
    • Define and enforce DAM governance, including metadata schemas, taxonomy, naming conventions, renditions, and access controls.
    • Establish and maintain enterprise standards for asset ingestion, approval, publishing, and archival.
    • Conduct technical audits to ensure adherence to governance, performance benchmarks, and architectural standards.
  • Performance, Optimization & Scalability
    • Monitor AEM Assets performance, storage utilization, and asset delivery metrics.
    • Drive optimizations related to asset rendition strategy, delivery performance, and storage efficiency.
    • Ensure the platform scales to support growing asset volumes, users, and integrations.
  • Thought Leadership & Strategic Enablement
    • Act as a thought leader for Adobe AEM, proactively identifying new ways the platform can be leveraged across the organization.
    • Partner with business and technology leaders to uncover new use cases for AEM Assets beyond traditional DAM scenarios.
    • Educate stakeholders on AEM capabilities, limitations, and best practices.
    • Contribute to enterprise content and digital experience strategy as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Stakeholder, Vendor & Adobe Partnership
    • Collaborate closely with marketing, creative, IT, and digital teams to align technical capabilities with business needs.
    • Serve as the primary technical liaison with Adobe, system integrators, and third-party vendors.
    • Support vendor selection, contract discussions, licensing strategy, and roadmap planning.
