Role Description
AMA seeks to hire an experienced Systems Engineer to help our customers integrate digital engineering practices into the NASA Human Health and Performance Directorate and the Human Research Program at NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, VA. This role will develop digital methods to augment system design processes using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) as well as participate in the digital transformation of our customer’s technical management processes by introducing process automation and data-driven decision making.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and NASA subject matter experts
- Advocate and provide guidance for developing MBSE workflows
- Train on MBSE tool applications
- Transform customer processes by leveraging Microsoft tools
This position will be on-site for candidates in the local Hampton, VA area and for those outside of the local area, remote work will be considered. The pay range for this position is $95K-132K.
Qualifications
- B.S. in an Engineering field
- M.S. in Aerospace or Systems Engineering
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Systems Engineering
- Professional experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering
- Proven ability to produce products that meet quality, safety, performance, cost, and schedule requirements
- Experience using the System Modeling Language (SysML) in MagicDraw (Cameo Systems Modeler)
- Proficient in scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Groovy, etc.) to automate tasks and exchange data via tools’ Application Programming Interfaces
- Experience in or readiness to learn how to use Microsoft office tools to implement digital transformation
- Experience implementing and managing Configuration Management processes
- Desire to work in a team-oriented culture
- Ability to work on agile teams and respond to shifting customer demands
- Ability to translate concepts across multiple disciplines
- Ability to interface successfully with stakeholders
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Some travel requirements
Requirements
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Experience with Power BI for data analysis and visualization
- Experience building and integrating Power Apps solutions with other systems
- Experience with requirements management in a tool such as DOORS, Cradle or JAMA
- Working knowledge of the NASA system design processes
- Experience with NASA or DoD Work Instructions and MBSE practices
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
