Role Description
We are seeking a Staff Technical Lead to join our team of makers and builders to expand our mission to create a highly extensible developer platform within HubSpot.
In this role, you’ll be hands-on, writing code and contributing to the design, architecture, and implementation of our systems, and will also help define and drive our teams toward the larger product vision. You will lead the team responsible for creating the backend foundation at the heart of our platform’s extensibility capabilities. As a Staff Technical Lead you will focus on delivering high-quality, impactful work while mentoring and growing the team around you.
- Become a subject matter expert on our ecosystem and platform
- Help us evolve our process and focus
- Be a key partner to our group leadership team
Qualifications
- Experience using or building great developer-focused tooling and services
- Years of experience consistently delivering high-value, high-impact, cross-team projects
- Thirst for technical challenges with secure, compliant, and distributed systems at scale
- Technical curiosity on advancements in AI technologies and stay up to date on industry trends
- History of developing solutions to problems that have had an outsized impact on the organization’s business goals
- Demonstrate pragmatic decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Enthusiastic for building reliable and scalable systems
- Never accept the status quo; ability to see beyond current capabilities
Requirements
- Experience with technologies such as Java, HBase, Vitess, Kafka, GraphQL, Dropwizard, React, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Ability to work in both frontend and backend spaces
- Provide strategic direction for major projects
- Push technologies and practices forward to improve the HubSpot ecosystem
- Regularly mentor and teach engineers in their areas of expertise

- Base salary, on-target commission for eligible roles, and annual bonus targets
