Role Description
The SR Software Engineer II supports business solutions. The purpose of this role is to develop business software solutions for complex and large-scale projects through object and data modeling, database design, programming, quality assurance, and implementation support.
- Perform all stages of the software development life cycle
- Self-manage activities on smaller projects and serve as technical lead on small, medium, and large projects
- Determine operating requirements, costs, and resource needs for assigned projects
- Co-lead with Project Manager employing object-oriented analysis and design techniques
- Participate in application architecture planning to determine optimal solution architecture
- Lead / develop high-level system narratives, storyboards, and user interface prototypes
- Lead / develop detailed design specifications for hardware and software use by the technical team
- Lead / develop system test plans and ensure software quality assurance (SQA) standards are achieved
- Develop applications to CDW coding standards and quality
- Identify issues that require more attention and work to resolve them
- Make technical decisions to meet design goals laid out in product roadmap
- Coach, mentor, and monitor progress of junior members
- Complete projects/tasks on a timely basis, according to commitments made to stakeholders and management
- Collaborate with business and project teams to gather requirements and business needs
- Step in as team member throughout the software development process as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 7 years CDW Software Development experience, or 11 years of Software Development experience
- Expertise in developing applications
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Advanced knowledge of product lifecycle and understanding of the role of methodology/frameworks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, planning, and creative problem-solving skills
- Proven track record of leading application development projects
- Expertise in creating applications using technologies such as C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, ASP.NET MVC, RESTful Web Services, SQL Server
Requirements
- Deliver solutions in Agile methodology in CI/CD environment
- Advanced knowledge of object-oriented design and programming techniques
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain productive working relationships
- History of balancing competing priorities while meeting deadlines
- Ability to perform effective code reviews and recommend automated review tools for the team
- Expertise in MongoDB, Azure DevOps, SOLR and/or Elastic Search, Python, Spark (a plus)
- Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (a plus)
- Experience in Linux & Windows platform (a plus)
- Working experience with Azure/Kubernetes (a plus)
- Ability to think through performance requirements for a system and lead optimizing/tuning (a plus)
Benefits
- Pay range: $129,000 - $185,000 depending on experience and skill set
- Annual bonus target of 10% subject to terms and conditions of plan
