Role Description

This role involves providing a high level of expertise in systems analysis and design, application development and/or integration, and testing of complex systems applications to support business needs.

Lead, architect, design, develop or integrate business applications.
Evaluate defined client area requirements and processes.
Design and develop moderate to complex application program solutions.
Ensure quality of application solutions by performing code reviews, creating documentation, implementing code, verifying program logic, performing defect root cause analysis, and completing unit and integration testing.
Participate in systems testing with other IT staff.
Assist with the high-level design of solutions.
Consult with the client area to analyze system requirements and capabilities, identify associated risks, and resolve problems.
Act as a liaison between clients and applications area.
Research and evaluate new and/or alternative solutions, recommending the most efficient and cost-effective solution for the systems/program design.
Develop system specifications and procedures, including integrating vendor applications and consulting resources into existing applications.
Support the implementation of the application into production and testing environments.
Confer with technical personnel to identify and resolve issues.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Typically a minimum of eight years of application program development experience including CCM tools (SmartComm/Thunderhead).
Applicable certificates preferred.

Requirements

Broad knowledge of the system development life cycle, and system and application program development alternatives.
Strong knowledge in SmartComm template development process including Layouts, Data Model, Style Sets, Template Selector and Rules processing.
Solid knowledge in SmartComm integration, APIs, Batch, Post processing and print streams customization to business need.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of interface design and user-centered work methods.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively among all levels of internal/external business partners/clients.
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and other business-related software systems or languages including, but not limited to J2EE Java.
Experience with other CCM tools (Documaker / OpenText / AEM) is a plus.
Proficient in at least one higher-level programming language.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dynamic workforce.
