Role Description
As a Solution Engineer, Principal you will take a lead role in defining, developing, and supporting solutions and new technologies. You will analyze the sales environment including customer expectations, competitive environment as well as the customer's technical environment and defines actions to be performed in the sales cycle timeframe.
- Prepare the Solution Engineer team to be successful through proactive training, sharing knowledge, and communicating best practices.
- Advise team members and sales prior to customer calls and/or sales strategy sessions; acts as subject matter expert in multiple families of solutions.
- Design technical solutions considering the customer’s infrastructure and business limitations and opportunities.
- Drive a variety of initiatives and projects and strategically work with sales, partners, and customers to uncover and increase emerging business opportunities.
- Deliver presentations and conduct sales conversations with confidence and credibility to C-level clients, both in small meetings and large group formats.
- Assist with cost evaluation and providing pricing solutions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of experience of presales within the ERP industry or equivalent operational ERP experience.
- Background of success in supporting both direct and channel sales.
- Experience in the manufacturing, distribution, or finance industry.
- Documented experience of giving customer presentations/demonstrations.
- Successful candidates may have worked for companies such as SAP, Microsoft, Infor, Sage, NetSuite or other ERP companies or Value-Added Resellers (VARs).
Requirements
- 8+ years applicable experience and demonstrated success/knowledge.
- 4+ years of specialized/industry experience.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
