Role Description
This role involves contributing to the development and support of MERIT proprietary cloud and on-premises applications. It includes supporting functions related to software validation and code review, as well as assisting in teaching, mentoring, and evaluation of Software Developers.
- Follow Good Programming Practices and MERIT’s Software Development Life Cycle
- Participate in Software Development meetings
- Contribute to standardization of coding practices
- Provide teaching, mentoring, and evaluation of other software development team members
- Monitor own work to ensure quality and completeness
- Work with limited supervision
- Respond with commitment and sensitivity toward satisfying the needs of internal and external customers
- Evaluate situations objectively and make timely decisions
- Assist in training of other programming team members
- Understand MERIT proprietary products and conduct of clinical trials
- Participate in all aspects of the software development process
- Use relevant software development tools (e.g., Microsoft Visual Studio, DevOps, Git)
- Write efficient, accurate, and standard source code
- Ensure software meets SOP and regulatory requirements
- Maintain complete documentation of the development process
- Contribute to research and development of new software products
- Provide system Architectural input at the highest project level
- Organize and prioritize work assignments
- Apply creative approaches and ideas to solve problems
- Demonstrate flexibility in approach and ideas
- Maintain cooperative and productive working relationships
- Comply fully with company policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Qualifications
- BA or BS degree in computer science or related field from a four-year college or university
- Some related experience and/or training as a software developer, preferably in a health care or service-related environment
- A minimum of four (4) years of software development experience
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to follow direction and assess company needs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, HTML, Angular, C#, .NET, Visual Studio, SQL
- Ability to learn company specific software
- Clear, concise, and effective oral and written communication
