Role Description

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to grow our Data Lake team’s capacity for impact. Data Lake focuses on two main product areas:

  • Braze’s Cloud Data Ingestion product which allows customers to seamlessly leverage the data in their cloud warehouse in Braze.
  • Management of the event data stored in our Snowflake data warehouse, including operation and access.

Our system processes trillions of data points annually and tens of billions of rows are inserted daily, shared with internal teams, and external customers.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of full-stack development experience, with a strong focus on building scalable web applications.
  • Experienced in building automated data pipelines, asynchronous processing, or ETL applications using tools like Kafka, Airflow, Sidekiq, SQS, and RabbitMQ.
  • Experienced technical leader with a track record of driving architectural decisions and contributing to technical strategy.
  • Strong understanding of design, data structures, and algorithms.
  • A self-starter with great communication and organizational skills who has worked in an agile team environment.
  • Willingness to learn the technologies required to deliver what customers need.

Requirements

  • Professional experience building software at scale, handling high volumes of data and traffic.
  • Professional experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, React, Snowflake, microservice architecture, and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with modern data warehousing, BI, and analytics.
  • Experience with agile processes.
  • A passion for incrementally delivering high-quality software which delights customers.
