Role Description
The B2B team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who wants to make an impact at every level of society by powering innovators, creative thinkers, entrepreneurs, and business owners around the world to be successful at each stage of their business's growth.
- Work on B2B strategic initiatives by better serving merchants with next-level B2B functionality.

Top requested features B2B provides for BigCommerce merchants include:
- Account Management to allow for multiple tiers of buyers with specific permissions based on their roles.
- Order Tools including shared shopping lists and buy again functionality to improve the customer purchase experience.
- Quote Management to allow shoppers to request a quote directly from the merchant’s storefront.
- Sales Rep Masquerade to enable the merchant’s sales team to assist customers in the purchasing process.
Our team’s core programming languages include Python, TypeScript, and recently Golang, but we’re more interested in your problem-solving skills and your willingness to learn than your specific experience.
We work closely with other engineering teams, product owners, designers, business representatives, and external partners to build a robust e-commerce platform that enables our customers to grow their businesses and our technology partners to build integrations and enhancements on top of our APIs.
We have a team of people at different levels and with different expertise and we work to iterate, learn, and build great software together.
Qualifications
- At least 4 years of experience building amazing products.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, MIS or related equivalent experience.
- Solid understanding of modern programming and design principles.
- Ability to write tested, maintainable code and commitment to keeping code quality high.
- Passionate and knowledgeable about modern technologies and tools, without bias toward a specific technology.
- Excellent communicator, able to explain ideas and the reasons behind them.
- Leads by example, owns work, and holds self responsible for results.
- Enjoys teaching and learning, willing to ask for help and provide assistance to others.
