Role Description

The Software Engineer-III designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products.

Develops software tools including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.
Determines software’s compatibility with hardware and/or influences software's design in relation to hardware.
Databridge is used to replicate data from Unisys MCP-based mainframes to other systems, most often an RDBMS.
Maintains synchronization without performing repeated extractions using Databridge.
Utilizes an Administrative Console written in Java to configure and operate Databridge.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Good understanding of computer science fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, etc.
Excellent programmer proficient at complex programming & knowledge of standard data structure and algorithms.
Makes recommendations for solving technical problems.
Completes assignments in a timely manner and within quality tolerance.
Writes modular, maintainable code with some guidance.
Makes the right trade-offs to efficiently solve problems.
Recognizes the impact software changes will have on systems.
Makes component changes and understands provided requirements, translating them into code.
Understands the principles of hardware to make design decisions.
Links the work to the external market and builds subject matter expertise within the current product domain.
Delivers well-structured, tested, and documented code within agreed-upon timelines.
Provides reasonably accurate estimates of work.
Participates in all required meetings and agile ceremonies.
Keen to provide test coverage to protect against future changes.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Able to present a track record of software development in the real world.
Excellent code designing skills.
One or more of the following programming languages/frameworks: Java, Maven, Spring, CSS, Vaadin, Git, web developer tools such as Chrome DevTools, test frameworks such as TestNG and Mockito, Javascript UI design experience with some familiarity with UX.
Able to use IDEs such as Eclipse to debug web applications.

Preferred Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent.
