Role Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Java Developer to join our team in the Insurance and Annuities domain. This role involves end-to-end system development, integration, and maintenance of complex insurance applications. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Java, strong experience in insurance tech systems, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, Agile environment.
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend services for insurance and annuities systems.
- Work on policy administration systems, including product configuration and legacy product migration.
- Integrate third-party tools using standards like ACORD and manage API-driven services.
- Translate complex business requirements into technical solutions aligned with industry regulations and best practices.
- Provide production support and contribute to continuous system improvement.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and drive code reviews and performance optimizations.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in Java development.
- Strong understanding of Spring Framework (Boot, MVC, Data), Hibernate, and RESTful APIs.
- Solid experience with insurance and annuities platforms (e.g., policy lifecycle, risk modeling, underwriting).
- Familiarity with industry standards and data exchange protocols like ACORD.
- Experience in system integration, legacy migration, and DevOps practices.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and microservices architecture.
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and ETL processes.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code with performance in mind.
