Role Description

This role involves designing and implementing solutions for demo scenarios, focusing primarily on Drupal. Demo Engineers are responsible for:

Operating, maintaining, and improving demo asset environments, including monitoring, Drupal patching, regular releases, and documentation.
Architecting, designing, and building end-to-end Drupal Cloud demos that cross multiple solutions and platforms, both Acquia and third-party.
Understanding and implementing the newest Drupal Cloud features in demos and keeping up with the fast pace of Acquia product releases.
Troubleshooting issues with demo environments and collaborating with teams as needed to resolve them.
Building, creating, and maintaining related demo enablement assets such as scripts, videos, and how-tos.
Exhibiting top-notch communication skills in both spoken and written formats, in one-on-one and large team settings (in person and remote).
Collaborating with Demo Team leaders and other cross-functional groups in North America and Europe during US ET hours.
Understanding technology-agnostic end-to-end software development, operations, and maintenance best practices.
Actively engaging in architecture discussions and planning.
Participating in cross-functional coordination, planning, and reviews with leads from other teams.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in software development (fullstack), PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Git.
3+ years of Drupal 7/8/9/10 site building and development experience.
Experience with Drupal Symfony, Composer, and Drush.
Exposure to automated testing and scripting such as Selenium.
Experience working directly with US and European teams.
Capable of being autonomous with good debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in communicating with users, non-technical teams, and product management to understand requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
Experience working with multiple developers on a single codebase (e.g., GitHub/Lab, Bitbucket).
Experience with Agile development methodologies.
Able to perform peer reviews on team members’ code.
Awareness and experience with Drupal community interactions and standard methodologies.
Skilled at collaborating with team members and partners in a matrixed environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational and time management skills.
Ability to be nimble, proactive, and comfortable working with minimal specifications.
Willingness to share ideas, give feedback, and propose creative solutions to Demo Team leadership.
Experience with short release cycles.
Master's/Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Technology Management, or equivalent experience.

Extra Credit

Acquia Certified Site Builder or Developer.
Presales experience (as a Solution Engineer, Sales Engineer, Demo Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Solutions Consultant).
Cloud Ops and hosting experience (e.g., Amazon Web Services).
