Role Description
Northern is seeking an experienced and highly technical Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer to join our development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions.
- Work closely with other developers, architects, marketing teams, and stakeholders to create scalable marketing automations, journeys, data systems, and reports that optimize our clients' engagement strategies.
- Utilize AMPscript, SQL, SSJS, and HTML/CSS to automate data management and enhance customer engagement workflows.
- Ensure that all Marketing Cloud implementations are highly optimized for performance, with an emphasis on scalability, security, and reliability.
- Implement and enforce best practices for data security and privacy within Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Write and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for solutions developed.
- Setup and configure Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalization features.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and configuring Salesforce Marketing Cloud applications with an emphasis on backend technical development.
- Proficiency in AMPscript, SQL, SSJS, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS for custom email development and data-driven personalization.
- Strong understanding of Marketing Cloud APIs (REST, SOAP) and experience integrating with other platforms and external systems.
- Solid experience designing and managing data extensions and utilizing SQL to query and manage large datasets within Marketing Cloud.
- Experience with Salesforce Contact Builder, Data Views, and advanced segmentation techniques.
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications such as Marketing Cloud Developer.
- Experience working with Git or other version control systems for source code management.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, highly technical environment.
Requirements
- Experience working with marketing platforms for eCommerce retailers.
- Familiarity with building custom Landing Pages using Cloud Pages and scripting for interactive experiences.
- Strong understanding of security best practices, including data encryption, roles, permissions, and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Experience in documenting technical specifications, architecture diagrams, and code changes.
