Role Description

We are seeking a hands-on Manager to lead our team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers. The ideal candidate will provide leadership, mentorship, and project management, while serving as a key liaison between the team and stakeholders across the company. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and excellent communication skills to drive data-driven decision-making and innovation.

  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
    • Identify skill gaps and provide opportunities for professional growth through training and challenging projects.
  • Project Management:
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of data projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timely completion.
    • Implement best practices in project management to enhance team productivity and project outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Act as the primary interface between the data team and key stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into actionable insights.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver solutions that drive business value.
  • Technical Oversight:
    • Provide hands-on guidance in the development and deployment of machine learning models for credit and revenue analysis, along with other domains.
    • Ensure the implementation of scalable data architectures and robust MLOps practices to maintain model performance and reliability.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Take a collaborative leadership role in developing and executing against a strategic roadmap for data initiatives, aligning with the company's goals and industry best practices.
    • Stay abreast of emerging trends in data science, data engineering, and fintech to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role within data science and/or data engineering teams, preferably in the fintech sector.
  • Strong proficiency in machine learning, data analysis, and statistical modeling.
  • Experience with MLOps practices and deploying models in production environments.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects on time.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to align data initiatives with broader business objectives.
