Role Description
Warner Bros. Games Inc. seeks a Lead Software Engineer for the WB Games NY Studio. As a Lead Software Engineer at WB Games NY (a subsidiary of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment), you will be working on our Tools team.
- The WBNY Tools team manages a suite of internal development tools such as build automation pipelines, automated infrastructure management, and frameworks for QA and load testing.
- You will be responsible for leading our Tools development team, focused on WBNY and external game studio developer experience.
- Work with a highly talented team of engineers, product managers, and producers to understand requirements and deliver tools that meet those requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in the development of complex technical products
- Proficient in reading and writing software in some general-purpose programming language(s)
- A general understanding of what it means to build products that scale to millions of players
- Knowledgeable on modern build, deployment, and cloud infrastructure technology and best practices
- Experience with databases (NoSQL experience is a plus, since we primarily use MongoDB, RedisDB, and ElasticSearch)
- Experience using and creating APIs
- Must have excellent communication skills
Requirements
- Provide technical mentorship and guidance for a team of engineers
- Review completed engineering tasks in collaboration with other leads
- Comfortable teasing out important requirements and helping to design end products that are sustainable and maintainable for years to come
- Hands-on leadership, spending time in the code with the team to support them in building the best products
- Play a critical role in the product planning process, ensuring that commitments are reasonable and achievable at a high quality threshold
- Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of in-house tools and systems to improve workflows for a range of development teams
- Work directly with the Director of Engineering to ensure that delivered products align with the company’s values and vision
