Role Description
Eternalight is looking for a Lead Java Software Engineer with strong leadership and product management qualities. In this role, you will contribute to global client projects and play a pivotal role in shaping product strategy and execution. You will work with a highly motivated team, driving key features at a fast pace. The services you develop will be mission-critical for our clients, enabling seamless payments, bookings, and expense management within seconds. You will help build a highly reliable and resilient application while fostering a culture of continuous improvement that values craftsmanship, developer productivity, and leadership.
- Technical Leadership: Provide guidance, mentoring, and technical oversight to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Product Strategy & Vision: Work closely with product managers to influence product roadmap decisions and drive features that align with business goals.
- Design & Architecture: Architect and implement scalable, high-performance APIs and core services to support critical business operations.
- Feature Development: Build impactful product features, ensuring high performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Quality & Performance: Ensure the quality of delivered features by implementing best practices in testing, monitoring, and documentation.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with the product and design teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Process Improvement: Drive best engineering practices, including agile methodologies, CI/CD, and code reviews.
- Innovation & Adoption: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, championing their adoption where beneficial.
- Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate technical decisions, challenges, and solutions with key stakeholders across the organization.
Qualifications
- Strong programming skills and computer science fundamentals.
- 4+ years of experience in building scalable, high-quality products.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, mentoring teams, and fostering a collaborative engineering culture.
- Product-driven mindset with the ability to balance technical decisions with business needs and customer impact.
- Deep architecture and API design expertise to build core services and innovative product features.
- Strong sense of ownership, demonstrated through shipping production-quality code with robust testing, monitoring, and documentation.
- Passion for problem-solving and continuous learning of new tools and technologies.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.
- Prior experience working at startups and/or on consumer-facing products.
- Experience with Java, AWS, and/or distributed systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in Spring Framework, Hibernate, or similar ORM technologies is a plus.
