Role Description
This role involves working directly with customers to transform their healthcare data into analytics-ready data using the Tuva open-source library of tools.
- Work directly with Tuva customers to implement the open-source to transform their claims and clinical data sources into normalized, enriched, quality-tested data
- Educate and train customer users on how to implement and operate the software themselves, and how to effectively analyze the data model
- Spend ~10% of your time directly contributing to the open-source by building new features, fixing bugs, improving documentation, and engaging the community in conversation in Slack
- Directly contribute to building the world’s leading healthcare data and analytics company by helping design our culture and the processes for how we work
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with claims data
- Extremely deep claims data expertise
- Experience with a variety of claims data sources (e.g., Medicare FFS, Medicare Advantage, commercial/self-insured, and Medicaid)
- Experience identifying and modeling claims adjustments, denials, and reversals
- Experience grouping claims into service categories for financial and utilization analyses
- Experience grouping claims into encounters (i.e., unique visits)
- Experience profiling claims for data quality problems
- Experience with risk adjustment algorithms and/or clinical quality measures
Requirements
- Significant hands-on experience with modern data tools and technologies, including SQL, dbt (data build tool), Modern Data Warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery), Python, Prefect (or similar orchestration tools), and Git
- Consultative approach to work
- Clear and proactive communication skills
- Ability to break down complex projects into constituent tasks
- Accurate estimation of timelines and prioritization of competing tasks based on their importance to the overall project
