Role Description
Are you a team member we are looking for? After 7 years of accelerated growth within the Swiss market and strong traction in the DACH region (Daimler, Merck to name a few customers) - Unit8 is looking to establish a substantial presence in Germany. The purpose of the role is to be part of an efficient team that will drive our growth, solve our customers' problems and support them in becoming a data-driven company.
- Depending on the project, the role may involve working on diverse areas such as cloud engineering and infrastructure, data engineering and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), as well as machine learning and data science.
- Work with our customers to understand their challenges, design and implement solutions.
- Closely collaborate with other data scientists, software engineers and business stakeholders.
- Evaluate, compare and present results to technical and non-technical audience.
- Contribute to the implementation and engineering of systems at different scales: from small proof-of-concepts to larger end-to-end data systems.
- Implement best practices in CI/CD.
Qualifications
- Fluent in German and English (mandatory)
- MSc level in the field of Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient software engineer with experience in applying a blend of software engineering, machine learning, and statistical methods to solve real-world business problems.
- Proficient in one of the following languages: Python, Scala, Java.
- Experience with cloud technologies is a strong plus.
- Pragmatic attitude; not afraid to take an active part in the engineering aspects of projects.
- Good presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts to people from other fields.
- Strong client-facing skills: comfortable interacting with clients (business & technical audience), delivering presentations, problem-solving mindset.
- Willing to travel to meet with clients and the team (mainly in Europe - up to 10% of your time).
