Role Description
We’re looking for motivated early-career professionals to join our team as Cobol Developer. In this role, you'll work closely with experienced engineers to investigate user-reported issues and implement small, high-impact code changes. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are excited to gain hands-on experience in maintaining and supporting enterprise-level mainframe systems, while learning from tenured professionals.
This position is ideal for candidates with a foundational background in COBOL, JCL, and CICS who are eager to grow their technical skills in a structured, mentoring-rich environment. While we provide training on the system itself, we are not offering formal COBOL training at this time.
- Analyze and troubleshoot reported issues in a legacy mainframe system
- Develop and implement small coding changes with quick turnaround times
- Collaborate with senior team members to understand system functionality and issue resolution processes
- Apply knowledge of COBOL, JCL, and CICS to maintain and improve system performance
- Document fixes and support knowledge sharing within the team
- Follow operational procedures and ensure compliance with internal standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field OR equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience
- Familiarity with COBOL, JCL, and CICS (even minimal experience preferred)
- Ability to quickly analyze problems and implement efficient solutions
- Willingness to learn from experienced engineers and contribute to team success
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
