Role Description
This role involves developing cutting-edge solutions that put analytics at the heart of decision-making. You will work closely with other members of the Strategic Analytics team on high-profile analytics projects that drive business strategies.
- Developing and Implementing API Strategy: Create and maintain API strategy that aligns with the business's overall objectives.
- API Design and Development: Establish API protocols and standards, develop API architectures, and collaborate with other stakeholders to integrate APIs into existing systems.
- API Documentation: Maintain Confluence documentation for API development processes, code, and revisions.
- API Security: Implement proper security protocols and work with the cybersecurity team to address potential threats.
- Monitoring and Maintenance: Continuously monitor the performance of APIs, troubleshoot any issues, and ensure that APIs are regularly updated and maintained.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with various stakeholders, including developers, IT teams, and business leaders, about the role of APIs in achieving business objectives.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to other team members on how to use APIs effectively and provide technical support for any API-related issues.
- Vendor Management: Responsible for managing technical relationships with third-party vendors.
- Market Research: Stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in the API space and suggest ways to leverage these trends for the benefit of the business.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of leading software projects
- 4+ years of Python development experience
- 4+ years of API development experience
- Knowledge of Java-based applications is a plus
- Experience with Azure Functions is a plus
- Demonstrated experience building APIs to support analytics/research/actuarial functions in an insurance company setting
- Experience with cloud technologies like Snowflake and Databricks
- Familiarity with the MLOps framework
- Exceptional collaboration and relationship building skills
- Comfortable handling ambiguous concepts and breaking down complex problems into manageable pieces
- Resilient problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to communicate effectively to different target audiences
- Flexibility – able to meet changing requirements and priorities
- College degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, or equivalent
