Role Description
This remote contractor role requires hands-on expertise with Amazon Bedrock, excellent communication skills, and a firm grasp of modern software development practices. You will work directly with the client’s product and engineering teams to design, build, and scale AI-powered applications in the canine genetic testing industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a field relevant to the role
- 3+ years of experience in software development
- Strong development skills, preferably in Python, TypeScript, Node.js, React, or similar languages
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Requirements
- Ability to work as a contractor, preferably in Canada, Colombia, Brazil, or Argentina
- For US applicants, the ability to work as an independent contractor under an LLC, C-Corp, or S-Corp
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Bedrock and proven ability to build and deploy applications using foundation models
- Time zone overlap with Eastern Standard Time (EST)
Nice-to-Have
- Familiarity with AWS services beyond Bedrock (e.g., Lambda, S3, SageMaker)
- Experience in prompt engineering or fine-tuning foundation models
- Experience in software consulting or client-facing development roles
Responsibilities
- Design and implement software solutions powered by Amazon Bedrock
- Build and fine-tune generative AI workflows and integrations into existing systems
- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to define scope and deliverables
- Communicate clearly and proactively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following best practices
