Role Description

We're looking for a Vice President of Business Development Manager who can shape, lead and deliver high‑impact business‑winning strategies that take OpenWorks’ world‑class technology into exciting growth markets. This is a unique opportunity to own the full business development lifecycle — from blank‑sheet strategy creation to winning bids, securing major contracts, and influencing how cutting‑edge counter‑UAS technology is adopted by defence and security customers.

You will be the driving force behind our growth, working closely with end users, partners, and internal teams to turn ideas into successful campaigns and profitable long‑term relationships.

Qualifications

  • Highly autonomous and productive in all areas of business development
  • Significant experience in the defence and security sector, with strong understanding of multi‑domain defence applications
  • Proven track record of developing successful, profitable business campaigns and sales
  • Creativity and drive to seek, identify and evaluate new opportunities
  • Commitment to continuously improving business development and sales processes
  • Excellent communication skills, able to clearly articulate complex technical capabilities to non‑technical audiences
  • Willingness to travel and represent OpenWorks to customers and suppliers, including supporting system integration activities
  • Confident briefing style suitable for senior stakeholders across industry, government and the military
  • Strong internal relationship‑building skills to ensure customer needs are understood and met
  • Successful ability to build and lead a team
  • Full driving licence
  • Ability to obtain (or already hold) security clearance

Requirements

  • Additional languages (desirable)
  • Experience with optical systems (desirable)
  • Existing relationships with leading authorities and industry integrators (desirable)
