Role Description

The internal title for this role is Territory Manager, Specialty Care Business Development. This is a remote/work-from-home (WFH) production underwriting role focused on Commercial Lines Middle Market accounts within the Senior Living industry segment.

• Territory: Northeast
• Must be able to regularly travel to key agency partners throughout the assigned territory, with an expectation of at least 25 agency visits per year.

As a Territory Manager, you'll market, manage and underwrite commercial business with select agencies or brokers. We'll count on you to drive profit and premium to meet financial goals and objectives through developing, negotiating and implementing business plans.

Qualifications

• Multi-line commercial insurance underwriting experience, including underwriting authority
• Senior Living industry-specific experience
• Strong business development skills, with a production & agency management orientation
• At least five years of experience handling Senior Living accounts
• Strong skill set in underwriting Casualty lines, including General Liability, Professional Liability, and Abuse & Molestation

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred
• License/Certification/Designation: Relevant professional designation such as CPCU or CIC is preferred
• Experience: Seven years of progressively more responsible underwriting and sales experience in commercial business preferred
• Knowledge of commercial underwriting, pricing and coverage for middle market business
• Excellent interpersonal and sales skills
• Ability to build and maintain cooperative and mutually rewarding internal and external partnerships
• Demonstrated decision-making ability required in day-to-day operations
