[Hiring] Social Media Sales Representative @Plateful

Role Description

You turn social media attention into revenue. You work the comments and the DMs on Instagram and Facebook, spot the people who are trying to buy, move them into a private conversation, and either close the sale yourself or hand a warm, qualified lead to the right person on the sales team. This is a sales role, not a community management role. You will be measured on leads captured and revenue generated.

• Monitor comments, replies, and direct messages daily across Instagram and Facebook, and any other social channel we add.
• Identify buying intent. Tell the difference between someone who wants to buy, someone with an order problem, and someone just chatting.
• Open the conversation. Move the prospect from a public comment into a DM quickly, while their interest is still live.
• Qualify the lead. Find out what they want, what is stopping them, and where they are based.
• Close it when you can. If the person is ready, take the sale in the DM and send them an invoice or a secure payment link.
• Hand off when you cannot. Pass the lead to the assigned salesperson with the full context: name, contact details, what they asked for, the blocker, and the conversation so far. Nothing gets dropped and nothing gets passed on half finished.
• Follow up on open conversations so warm leads do not go cold.
• Log everything in our helpdesk (Richpanel) so every lead is traceable and countable.
• Report back on what you are seeing. Which blockers come up again and again, which posts and ads bring in real buyers, which questions stop people from buying. That feedback goes to marketing, product and CX.

Qualifications

• Proven sales experience with a record of hitting or beating targets.
• Comfortable selling in writing, in short back-and-forth messages, to strangers.
• Ability to recognize buying intent and ask for the sale without being pushy.
• Organised and disciplined. Follows up, keeps notes, does not lose people.
• Fast to respond. Social leads go cold in hours, not days.
• Excellent written English.
• Integrity: you never misrepresent price, discounts, delivery dates, or product specs.

Requirements

• Previous experience selling via Instagram or Facebook DMs.
• Skilled at handling price objections and turning hesitation into closes.
• Sold on Instagram or Facebook DMs before.
• Ecommerce or direct to consumer background.
• Worked with a helpdesk or CRM. We use Richpanel and Shopify, and we will train you on both.
• A second language.

How success is measured

• Number of qualified leads captured from social.
• Revenue closed directly in DMs.
• Conversion rate from lead to sale, yours and after handoff.
• First response time on a prospect message.
• Quality and completeness of the leads handed to the sales team.
