Role Description

As a member of the Palo Alto Networks Sales team, the successful Service Sales Engineer will be responsible for partnering with Services Sales Managers supporting PAN account teams. The SSE will be responsible for:

• Understanding customer requirements
• Scoping level of effort
• Recommending services that provide successful outcomes for our customers

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Design and architect implementation and optimization solutions
• Assist customers with planning for large-scale transformations in technology
• Recommend the appropriate post-sales resource teams to ensure client success
• Run virtual and in-person customer discovery workshops
• Translate technical solutions into business value for C-level executives

The Services Sales Engineer (SSE) role is a creative and outgoing, services pre-sales professional with a passion for technology evangelism and custom solution development. The SSE will:

• Contribute to growing the PANW services business
• Work directly with customers to define service requirements
• Establish close partnerships with Delivery teams, Global Delivery Practices, and other subject matter experts

The role is fast-paced, aiming to enable PANW customers to achieve their digital transformation securely and safely.

Qualifications

• Professional fluency in English and German
• Proven track record in technical consulting, pre-sales and/or delivery experience within an IT or Cyber Security services organization
• Strongly preferred: SASE or Cortex experience/knowledge
• PANW Platform experience will be an extra asset
• Experience in the Alps region preferred
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Demonstrated experience in discovery/scope definition workshops with cross-functional internal and customer resources
• Highly proficient around network infrastructure based security appliances

Requirements

• Experience with Firewalls, SSL/IPSec VPNs, Security Proxies and Caches
• Knowledge of Secure Access Service Edge (SASE)
• Familiarity with Public Cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Understanding of Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) securing applications from code to cloud
