[Hiring] Senior Sales Manager BESS @Volvo Group

Role Description

As Senior Sales Manager BESS – Germany & Central Europe, you will drive our growth by developing the German market, converting complex opportunities and building long-term customer and partner relationships. Reporting to the Head of Sales EU & International, you will work closely with Volvo Energy’s commercial and technical teams to:

• Build and convert the BESS pipeline in Germany, with responsibility for selected Central European markets.
• Execute account and market plans, delivering sales volume, profitability and pipeline-quality targets.
• Commercialize BESS solutions and services for Commercial & Industrial, EV charging and selected utility-scale applications.
• Take direct responsibility for originating, developing and closing complex BESS sales, from initial customer engagement through tendering, negotiation, contracting and delivery handover.
• Coordinate internal specialists and external partners to create competitive customer solutions.
• Shape customer offerings, business models, pricing, financing options, partnerships and commercial agreements.
• Build senior relationships with customers, developers, utilities and channel partners across the region.

Qualifications

• A proven track record of originating, developing and closing BESS sales or project opportunities in Commercial & Industrial, EV charging or utility-scale applications.
• Strong commercial understanding of BESS, supported by technical knowledge of grid connection, electrical infrastructure, system design, project development and contracting.
• Experience with German or DACH energy-market customers and procurement processes, including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, tenders, negotiations and contract award.
• Understanding of BESS business models and value streams, including ancillary services, energy arbitrage, peak shaving, flexibility and revenue stacking.
• Professional fluency in German and English, with the ability to lead commercial and technical discussions in both languages.
• A relevant university degree—or equivalent professional experience—in energy, engineering, business or commercial management.
• Strong commercial judgement, drive and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to manage several opportunities and travel regularly within Germany and Central Europe.
