Role Description
We are seeking a high performing Senior Business Development Lead - Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to join our DLA team. A strategically seasoned business development executive, with superior professional skills, broad business sense, and a team-oriented, participatory operating style in the Washington, DC Metro area.

Developing and executing strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base within current and expansionary target markets and accounts.

Lead business development and capture activities in pursuit of programs specifically related to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Full and Open addressable market.

Assist with writing RFIβs and proposals, win theme development, and crafting solutions in coordination with the operational team in response to portfolio capture efforts.

Owning and hitting/exceeding targets within assigned markets and accounts.

Coordinating with operational teams to develop mutually beneficial proposals.

Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships.

Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives; translate that knowledge into customer-tailored, differentiated solutions.

Hands-on, personal engagement throughout the entire business development lifecycle, including effectively communicating the value proposition through proposals and presentations.

Understand market/account-specific landscapes, addressable markets, customer and procurement trends, and competitive trends.

Define and implement customer growth strategies and effectively communicating investment rational based on market factors, capability alignment, and TekSynap fit.

Understanding and reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts.

Drive business to existing GWACs, BPAβs, and IDIQs.

Execute and monitor project activities.

Manage changes to scope, cost and schedule of project work.

Coordinate priorities and resources between multiple projects.

Prepare and update project plans and status reports based upon schedules provided by the projectβs PWS or SOW, and/or other customer requirements.

Provide updates and conduct operational meetings as in routine with customer and team leads.

Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.
Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of specific, increasingly responsible business development and operational IT management within the DLA Market.

At least 5 years of experience supporting operational programs within the DLA or 4th Estate Market.

Bachelor's degree or commensurate documented experience required.

Substantive experience and successful track record of driving business opportunities which result in winning competitive bids in a government contracting environment.

Thorough knowledge of current marketing and sales best practices within the industry and the ability to develop unique strategies based on sound marketing and industry analyses.

Proven relationship-based sales results: demonstrated ability to generate productive, valuable relationships that result in long-term clients.

Highly developed written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interview subject matter experts and translate technical concepts into winning proposal themes.

Well established networks in the DLA community: must establish/expand relationships with prospective clients, as well as identify and develop relationships with current and future partners.

Ability to multitask and work effectively, independently, and in teams, ensuring timely completion of assignments and meeting established quality standards.

Superior interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact in a professional manner with government officials, and teammates during periods of high stress and tight deadlines.
