Role Description
La Crosse Milling Company is seeking a sales-driven, relationship-focused professional with experience in food ingredient sales to lead revenue growth, strengthen key accounts, and expand our presence within the food manufacturing industry. This role is primarily focused on B2B ingredient sales, with marketing responsibilities supporting commercial objectives.
This remote-based position offers home-office flexibility with regular travel to customers, trade shows, and occasional visits to headquarters. You will strike a balance between developing new business and growing long-standing partnerships—serving as a trusted ingredient solutions partner to food manufacturers and processors.
Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development (Primary Focus):

Drive new business development within the food manufacturing and ingredient space

Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities

Lead customer conversations around ingredient functionality, pricing, and supply solutions

Identify and close strategic accounts in target markets

Account Management:

Manage and grow existing customer relationships with a focus on volume, margin, and long-term partnership

Collaborate closely with the Cochrane-based Customer Service team to ensure seamless execution

Pricing & Commercial Strategy:

Manage contract pricing and negotiations in a commodity-based environment

Balance competitiveness with margin protection in a fluctuating market

Marketing Support (Secondary):

Support trade show planning, customer-facing materials, and industry presence

Collaborate on website updates and marketing initiatives that directly support sales efforts

Help position products within key verticals based on market trends and customer needs

Market Intelligence:

Monitor industry trends, customer demand, and competitor activity to inform sales strategy
Qualifications

Minimum 3+ years of B2B sales experience in food ingredients, grain, milling, or related agricultural/commodity-based industries REQUIRED

Proven success in managing and growing key accounts and closing new business

Experience working with commodity pricing, contracts, and market volatility strongly preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agribusiness, Food Science, or related field preferred

Ability to travel 30–40% for customer visits, trade shows, and company meetings

Strong negotiation skills and ability to manage complex customer relationships

Comfortable operating independently in a remote, performance-driven environment

Ability to translate customer needs into ingredient-based solutions
