Role Description
IonQ is seeking a highly motivated Sales Executive to drive revenue growth within cybersecurity-focused accounts. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing opportunities where IonQβs quantum technologies intersect with security, encryption, and next-generation risk mitigation strategies. You will work closely with technical teams, product specialists, and executive stakeholders to position IonQβs solutions as critical components in the future of secure computing.
Responsibilities

Develop and execute a strategic sales plan targeting security-focused enterprise and commercial organizations

Identify opportunities related to quantum-safe encryption, cybersecurity resilience, and post-quantum readiness

Build and maintain strong relationships with CIOs, CISOs, IT leaders, and executive decision-makers

Lead the full sales cycle: prospecting, qualification, solution positioning, negotiation, and closing

Collaborate with core sales, engineering, & technical teams to tailor solutions that align with customer security needs

Educate customers on the impact of quantum computing on cybersecurity and encryption
-
Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management using CRM tools

Represent IonQ at industry events, conferences, and client engagements
Qualifications

10+ years of professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

5+ years of enterprise sales experience, preferably in cybersecurity or advanced technology sectors

Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas in complex, consultative sales environments

Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts (encryption, threat landscapes, compliance frameworks)

Experience selling to large enterprises or government agencies

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

Ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Ability to operate in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders internally and externally

Requirements

Experience in quantum computing, AI, security, or emerging technologies
