Role Description
We're opening a new market β private and independent high schools β and this role is how we open it. It's a segment built for outbound: around 2,500 schools we can reach, one decision maker per school, no board budget cycle to wait on, and a sales cycle measured in months rather than quarters. As one of our first two SDRs here, you'll build the account map, run a phone-first outbound motion, and turn that list into a predictable flow of qualified meetings for our Account Executives. You'll report to our Head of Sales, and the playbook you write is the one the next cohort of SDRs runs.
What You'll Do
-
Phone-First Outbound
-
Live on the phone! This is the channel for this segment, and the first stretch of this job is genuinely dialing for dollars.
-
Get to the one person who decides at each school: usually the principal, head of school, or IT director.
-
Hold real conversations with educators who are busy, skeptical, and not expecting your call.
-
Back the phone with personalized email and LinkedIn that earns a reply rather than adding to the pile.
-
Territory & Account Strategy
-
Build and maintain a tiered, named account map of private high schools that fit Nectir.
-
Research each school's context; curriculum, tech stack, budget cycle, academic integrity posture, and identify decision makers.
-
Keep account coverage and status current and legible in our CRM.
-
Pipeline Handoff
-
Generate qualified meetings and opportunities for Account Executives.
-
Qualify rigorously enough that AEs want more of your meetings, not fewer.
-
Partner with AEs and marketing on what's converting and what isn't.
-
Building the Motion
-
Build AI-assisted workflows for research, list-building, number sourcing, and call sequencing that multiply your own output.
-
Document the openers, sequences, and objection handling that actually produce meetings.
-
Share what works with the rest of the SDR team so the next cohort ramps faster.
Qualifications
-
2+ years of outbound SDR/BDR experience with a track record of consistently hitting or exceeding monthly qualified meeting targets.
-
Significant cold calling experience and genuine appetite for the phone. You should want to be on it all day, not merely tolerate it.
-
Resilience through high-volume rejection and low connect rates without a drop in output or tone.
-
Strong written communication, and outreach that's specific, short, and free of vendor-speak.
-
Demonstrated use of AI tools to multiply your own output, with judgment about what to verify before it reaches a prospect.
-
Comfort prospecting into senior stakeholders and navigating institutional decision-making.
Nice-to-Haves
-
Experience selling into Independent High Schools, K-12, higher education, or other education institutions.
-
Experience selling AI, analytics, or learning technology.
-
Experience at an early-stage or high-growth company, especially opening a new segment.
Benefits
-
Competitive base salary.
-
Comprehensive health coverage: medical, dental, and vision.
-
401k with employer match.
-
Unlimited PTO.
-
Equity (stock options), so you share in what we're building.
-
Flexible, remote-first work environment.
