Role Description
The Planned Giving Officer will develop long-term relationships with prospective planned giving donors primarily through voice-to-voice interaction, and occasional face-to-face donor development. Responsibilities will include:

Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life.

Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization.

Responsible for building relationships and cultivating loyal donors to secure an annual fundraising goal of at least $1,500,000 in planned giving commitments.

Demonstrate knowledge of planned giving vehicles, including wills, living trusts, and charitable gift annuities.

Engage with high value leads and donors primarily via voice-to-voice interactions to cultivate planned gifts.

Understand and articulate World Vision's transformational model and relate mission and work to align donor's goals and interests.

Steward World Vision Legacy Society donors by regular communications to increase retention of constituencies.

Assist other Development staff in the recruitment of new members.

Support other Planned Giving Officers on how to engage donors and cultivate relationships.

Develop and produce customized gift proposals for donors.

Provide basic information regarding tax and financial implications of gifts.

Discern when complex donor inquiries should be referred to other team members.

Ensure strategic prospect plans are developed and utilized by team members.

Assist in developing portfolios through face-to-face regional events.

Serve as internal consultant to senior fundraisers.

Strategically partner with Planned Giving team members.

Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities.
Qualifications

Two-year degree or equivalent work experience (four years). Bachelor's degree preferred.

Requires five years of work experience, including a minimum of three years of successful sales/fundraising experience.

Proven ability to understand and articulate financial tools and concepts.

Completion of at least one course in planned giving strongly desired.
