Role Description
The Pet Benefits Account Executive is responsible for developing and managing relationships with brokers, employers, and clients to deliver customized pet benefits solutions. This role focuses on driving new business, retaining existing clients, and supporting employee benefit enrollment initiatives that enhance the overall benefits offering and employee experience.
Key Responsibilities

Business Development:

Identify, prospect, and cultivate new voluntary benefits opportunities within assigned territory or client segments.

Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, consultants, and employer partners.

Deliver presentations and proposals tailored to each client’s workforce and benefits strategy.

Manage the implementation and ongoing service of pet benefit.

Coordinate enrollment initiatives—including scheduling, communication planning, and enrollment technology platform setup.

Provide regular account reviews and ensure clients receive proactive service and accurate billing.

Collaboration:

Work closely with internal teams (enrollment, underwriting, marketing, and operations) to ensure a seamless client experience.

Collaborate with carriers and vendors to negotiate terms, resolve issues, and design program enhancements.

Education & Communication:

Conduct employee education sessions and webinars to help participants understand voluntary benefits options.

Develop and maintain strong product knowledge of both PBS and competitor pet care products.
Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience in employee benefits, preferably with a focus on voluntary/worksite products.

Proven track record of achieving sales and retention targets.

Strong prospecting skills.

Proven ability to develop new business relationships.

Active life and health insurance license (or ability to obtain within 90 days).

Strong presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.

Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working directly with brokers, benefits consultants, or insurance carriers.

Knowledge of enrollment technology platforms (e.g., Benefitfocus, Ease, Selerix) and communication strategies.

Experience selling voluntary benefits products.
