Role Description
We're hiring Loula's founding Payer Strategy & Partnerships Lead! This is someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, contracting, and execution. You'll own Loula's payer ecosystem, which includes:

Identifying and negotiating contracts with health plans.

Maintaining relationships with 20+ payer organizations in California.

Building the operational infrastructure for smooth partnerships.

Securing high impact payer contracts and fostering long-term, collaborative relationships.

Creating the playbook for working with health plans and executing it daily.

Serving as the internal expert on payer-related matters.

Expanding the number of families doulas can serve.
Qualifications
-
4-8 years of experience in healthcare payer relations, payer contracting, healthcare go-to-market, provider network management, or healthcare operations.

Experience managing external partnerships or stakeholder relationships.

Experience building workflows, documentation, and systems.

Experience collaborating across functions to solve problems.

Experience navigating complex organizations with competing priorities.

Negotiated contracts, agreements, or terms, preferably in the California market.

Experience as an operator on a founding team or early employee at a startup.
Requirements

Lead payer expansion strategy based on market size, reimbursement rates, member demographics, and strategic fit.

Negotiate contract terms with health plans.
-
Create repeatable processes for identifying, launching, and scaling payer partnerships.

Present quarterly payer strategy recommendations to leadership.

Own plan launch operations for every new contract.

Create and maintain an internal "Payer Playbook".

Serve as the primary point of contact for 20+ Medicaid and commercial payer organizations.

Conduct regular check-ins with key payer contacts.

Navigate payer organizations to build relationships with key stakeholders.

Advocate for Loula in contract discussions and partnership development.

Support the Provider Success team with onboarding resources.
-
Share trends, friction points, and opportunities with internal teams.

Enable Credentialing and Revenue Cycle teams with payer-specific guidance.
