Role Description
The Global Logistics Account Manager generates new Global Logistics and Distribution (GL&D) revenue. He/She acts as an overlay sales consultant to support UPS account owners in qualifying opportunities, creating sales strategies, and driving new and additional revenue. This position cultivates relationships with and trains UPS sales teams to identify, position, and develop bundled solutions (e.g., supplier management, warehousing, ocean and air transportation, distribution, etc.). He/She acts as a GL&D subject matter expert (SME) specific to warehousing, distribution, and transportation issues and opportunities. This position manages customer account contract negotiations and post-sales activities (e.g., changes in scope, customer service, implementation issues, etc.).
Responsibilities

Conducts customer calls to model sales techniques and shares sales/negotiation expertise with team members.

Shares complex experiences with operations teams to provide awareness on recurring customer issues.

Collaborates with cross-functional committees (e.g., claims, damage reduction, etc.) to provide subject matter expertise.

Manages resources and people processes (e.g., My Talent Center, career development, training, staffing, etc.) to ensure day-to-day administration of processes and formal procedures.

Participates in establishing departmental budget to ensure guidelines are realistic and achievable.

Considers industry and financial trends when making account decisions.

Reviews and coaches team members on overall revenue results compared to plan.

Provides consultative selling techniques, negotiation skills, and positioning solutions.

Conducts customer analysis to identify customer facts and trends and collects standard research data about current and prospective customers.

Helps define and create specific documented account strategies, evaluates key financial indicators, and leverages sales and service resources to meet basic customer needs.

Builds and maintains relationships throughout a customer organization.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or International equivalent - Required

Meets local age and operations requirements to operate a vehicle

Willing to travel

Microsoft Office skills

Availability to work flexible shift hours and provides own vehicle for business.

Demonstrates a familiarity with both UPSβs and competitorsβ core service offerings

Demonstrates negotiation techniques

Demonstrates a detailed understanding of supply chain concepts and able to recommend solutions to issues

Previous supervisory experience β Preferred
