Role Description
We are looking for a Country Manager / Technical Sales Manager for Food Ingredients in Nigeria for a well-known Food Ingredients Distributor. This is a B2B job, not an FMCG job. Please apply only if you have experience in sales of Food Ingredients Business to Business.
You will establish a limited company in Nigeria, selling value-added Food Ingredients from leading suppliers.
We are looking for a Country Manager (25% of time) / Sales Manager (75% of time) with a passion for food technology and sales. Your responsibilities will include:

Establishing our business in Nigeria, overseeing market performance and sales growth in the food industry sector.

Understanding food technology, sales management, logistics, and team leadership across functions (including government relations, partnerships, operations, and local marketing).

Ensuring operational excellence while identifying new opportunities for sales growth and building partnerships with food producers.
Qualifications

Bachelor or Master Degree in Food Technology (must have).

Minimum 5 yearsβ experience in the food industry (production/sales).

Ability to solve technological problems and a passion for developing food products.

Exceptional communication and analytical skills, highly organized, reliable, with the ability to motivate and guide employees.

Good negotiation skills and positive thinking.

Fluent in written and spoken English.

Prepared to travel.

Business acumen.

Skilled computer user.
Requirements

Analyze market and product range of suppliers to find new potentials.

Create strong relationships with food producers.

Develop sales strategies for specified ingredients (business development).

Visit customers in SA, analyze their needs, create a value proposition.

Advise on ingredient applications and develop tailor-made recipes for customers where required.

Attend production trials at customers/make small-scale trials in the application kitchen.

Make price offers/follow up on projects & payments from customers.

Align sales strategy for suppliersβ product groups under the supervision of Springboard managers.

Check legal requirements (certification, registration, labeling, import).

Control business processes within the company (logistics, contracts, administration, warehouse, usage of internal computer program).
