Role Description
The EMEALA Array Sales Specialist – Genotyping is responsible for protecting, expanding and creating new array business in identified growth areas in collaboration with local account managers, sales specialists, global product management and additional support functions (i.e. marketing, medical & government affairs, market access) to achieve long term revenue growth and profitable margins for Illumina. This person will be the commercial subject matter expert for all Illumina Infinium arrays, workflows and software solutions (on market and NPIs).

Support large accounts and strategic deals in the subregion.

Develop and sustain strong relationships with key customers and thought leaders.

Maintain regular interactions between customers and the Illumina management team.

Plan and facilitate regular sales training for subregional commercial teams in collaboration with array management and global product management.

Enable local account managers to handle basic customer inquiries & opportunity identification and qualification.

Support marketing with sales collaterals, competitive positioning, and sales initiatives (events, regional pricing, promos, bundles, etc.).

Deploy customer-centric plans for growing volume and profit.

Communicate market observations back to product marketing and array management.

Understand relevant customer requirements, priorities, needs, and strategies to accelerate the sales cycle.
Qualifications

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent experience for an Executive Arrays Sales Specialist.

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or equivalent experience for a Senior Arrays Sales Specialist.

Must be fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Responsible for selling complex technical products and/or services.

May manage and coordinate the sales and technical team in support of the sale of the organization’s products.

May also be called on as a technical product expert to develop and present sales proposals and systems solutions, and close complex technical sales.
